Some building stuff…
Last Sunday we mentioned that we we planning on going to the planning board on July 29th to get the go ahead to start working on the new place…however, as we talked on Sunday we realized that the best thing to do would be to wait two weeks, get all of our stuff together, and then go for the approval.
We are sill going to the village planning meeting on the 29th to do some of the preliminary work (answer some basic questions, get ideas about what all we need to have ready at the BIG meeting, etc).
Other building stuff…
Chairs. When we first got our own place, way back in 1999 we went to Sam’s Club to look for some folding chairs…padded folding chairs we over $20. So as you can guess, good, solid chairs cost a bit more ($48 each), and we are buying a few more (400) then we did back in 1999. (Here are the chairs we are getting.) If you are interested in purchasing a chair for yourself an a friend, you can do that on Sunday Morning, or online.
When we get the chairs, you’ll notice that we picked a dark color. One of the things we have often seen when a church moves into their own place & fixes it up is that they no longer allow food & drink into the sanctuary (kind of like that old aunt who had the parlor fixed up with plastic on the couches that the kids were not allowed to step foot in for fear of death…) We’ll we knew that no coffee in the sanctuary would not fly in Ithaca (I personally would need to violate that rule each week) so we decided, let’s get stuff that will hide the spills when they do happen.
Please keep this whole moving process in your prayers…God has been doing some really cool stuff so far & we are going to need even more.
