Joy Thomas

Bio: My husband Ben and I moved to Ithaca in 2002 about 3 weeks after we got married. I was born in Hornell, NY and grew up in Alfred, NY, so I have always called one college town or another my home. My family owns a hardware store in Alfred, and I worked there quite a bit when I was younger. I also went to and worked at (once I turned sixteen) Penn York Camp in Ulysses, PA every summer. I met Ben in Alfred while we were both attending Alfred State College. Shortly thereafter, I transferred from Alfred State to Alfred University to finish out my Bachelor’s degree. While in college, I was involved in leadership in Alfred University’s InterVarsity Christian Fellowship chapter. Somewhere along the way I rediscovered my passion for libraries and began working as a student worker in Alfred University’s Library. I now work in Olin and Uris Libraries at Cornell University. Ben and I got married August 10, 2002 shortly after we both graduated with our bachelor’s degrees.

I currently lead the Middle School Group @ the Vineyard.
