What to Expect
We recognize that attending a church for the first time can be an intimidating process.
To make your first trip to the Vineyard Church of Ithaca a little easier, here are some things you can expect when you show up:
- Before things get started, you are invited to head in and get a cup of coffee or something else to drink.
If you have kids up to 5th grade, you can sign them in at Vineyard Kids before worship.
- We begin our service with a few worship songs, followed by a few brief welcome and a short break so that you can get a refill on your coffee, grab something to eat, and meet a new person or two.
- After the break, we have a message, applying Biblical truth to everyday life, followed by about 25 minutes of singing, in which we express our love and thanks to God. Please feel free to participate or to simply sit back and listen. (We provide an asl interpreter at our 9:15 am service.)

What people are saying about the Vineyard:
I liked how the sermon fit into everyday life, not some obsolete scriptures that we clearly don’t use today."
It was very different from the churches I have been to in the past where there was strict order to all aspects…The music, the break time to meet new people, and to feel welcome was very nice."
There were a lot of nationalities…and there were a lot of young people."
I noticed that there was a broad spectrum of people, not just rich or poor or goth or punk or etc., but everyone. I liked the feeling that you don’t have to impress the congregation with your attire."
If I could start a church in my town, it would be one like this!"
I loved it and can’t wait to come back this week. I’ve been telling everyone I know about it!"
