Fall '08 Kick Off

On Sunday, April 20th, we spent some time talking about some of the ways that God has been working in and through our church…about the lives of some of those who have come to know Jesus…and about the great need that still exists in our city. We also took time to look ahead towards where God is leading the Vineyard Church of Ithaca over the next 12 months. Like most of you, my desire for our church is that we would consistently see many people get connected with Jesus, and have their lives transformed. In order to get ready for next fall, we have two goals:

Our first goal, our “Big Goal,” which we have already passed, was to raise $40,000. The first $10,000 of that amount would be used for two direct mailings as well as other advertising. The remaining $30,000 would be used to provide a cushion towards rent payments so that we could move into our own place beginning in the late summer (meaning no more set up & tear down).

Our second goal, our “Big Hairy Audacious Goal,” is to raise $70,000. The additional $30,000 would be used to bring another pastor on staff. Specifically, we would be looking for someone who could focus part of their time and energy on our children’s ministry.

As you can see from the chart on the right, we have exceeded our "big goal," and are well over half way to our BHAG!
