Loving Enemies-Immune And Free

Pastor Mike Foster continues our series Love is Difficult with a message on how Jesus’ command to love our enemies can seem impossible to carry out. But He tells us how, step by step, rung by rung, layer by layer. We’re going to have to do this to avoid the snare of offense, because offense quickly chokes spiritual life from us. This love of God, that would love an enemy even at the cost of life, has been seen since the 1st century as THE hallmark of Christian Maturity. In that state of existence, where our hearts are mature like the Father’s is mature, we are immune to offense. It’s still offensive, but it no longer causes us to fall short of who we are in Christ. We see how we fail in the same ways as those who offended us. That means we can actually do something about the cause of the offense.
