Pastor Nathan Emmelhainz continued our series Life of Surprise, showing that we recognize the sounds of familiar family and friends, but do we recognize the sounds, words, visions, and moves of God? Do we weigh the words we hear?

Pastor Nathan notes that, because false prophets exist, we should heed what 1 Corinthians 14:29 tells us. "Two or three prophets should speak, and the others should weigh carefully what is said." 

Pastor Nathan, provided the following questions to help discern the words spoke over us or the church: 

1. Does it contradict scripture?  
2. Does it match God's character?  
3. Is it what I already wanted to hear?  
4. Does it come from somewhere else?  
5. Does it resonate with the Spirit's witness?  
6. Do I receive it, hold it for later, or reject it?
